Memory Whales

The countless memories spring up again

Like whales coming up to the surface from the ocean depths

All connected through one word- temporary

The warmth I felt or the passion I had

The precious laughter and the deepest bonds

Maybe the bonds stayed but togetherness just faded away

In those silly pictures with overflowing laughter

This moment feels like a still lake

And I was waiting for those thrilling tides

But often I realize

That underneath this lake, an ever so inconspicuous current flows

What I was waiting for will slowly just seep away.

P.S- I have developed a keen interest in whales nowadays. They are such marvelous creatures. Apparently they have incredible memory too.
